I placed an IDE hard drive in it with all the images of PCs that I GHOST on a regular basis. I thought the problem was large files, so i plit the i386 folder into 400 smal rar files and tried again, same thing happens hangs after 5 or 10 files. The minor miracle here is using a driver file called "USBASPI.SYS" ("Panasonic v2.06 ASPI Manager for USB mass storage"). Why, I often see people taking the CD-ROM drivers from some random boot-up disk, and it's that horrible contraption implemented by win98!
