The PC speaker sound is honest. Sorry if my knocks against TASM's strucs, macros, etc. The more significant issue would be how to get this to also work with DOS extenders. The good news is that (in Linux) most onboard audio cards are supported via AC97 and Intel HDA drivers, so it may be factible to create a "stack" of drivers for Dos Sound Blaster Emulator

TASM is not bad, but I do kinda hate ideal mode. Why don't you just buy a > real sound card? Together with this there maybe many more multimedia possibilities with the pc speaker. Dosbox DexOS?
